A Botanic Garden and the accompanying seed bank, if they constitute ex situ species conservation, do not only by definition help to maintain biodiversity, but they are also by law necessary for maintaining biodiversity and protecting the environment. At the Apollo – Delphi Botanic Garden, in situ (on site) conservation of the Bupleurum capillare takes place, [regarded as] a priority species for protection by the European Union. A part of the project consists of the Seed Bank’s infrastructure, that is to say a bank of genetic material with an aim to collect and conserve the plant genetic resources of Parnassos.
